In 2008, The Urban Professionals Network is proud to announce the creation of our four committees. We encourage our members to assist in the growth of the network by becoming involved in one of four committees.

Our initial four committees will consist of the following.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The Purpose of this committee will be to grow, retain, and cultivate the membership of the network. Members of the committee will work with the Membership Chairperson to fulfill the following responsibilities:

-         Create Membership Drives

-         Provide outreach to members through phone calls, email, and direct mailings

-         Become an active resource for new and existing members

-         Actively promote the benefits of being a UPN member

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The Purpose of this committee is to actively promote the goals and objectives of The UPN. Members of the committee will work with the Communications Chair to fulfill the following responsibilities:

-         Create diverse marketing strategies

-         Establish relationships in key media markets

-         Identify cross-promotional opportunities

-         Distribute UPN promotional materials in targeted areas

-         Work with Events Committee to ensure effective promotion of UPN sponsored events

COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE

The Purpose of this committee is to establish positive relationships and a visible presence within the Urban Community. Members of the Community Service Committee will work with the Committee chair to fulfill the following responsibilities:

-         Establish Community Service events within the network.

-         Support existing Community organizations within the urban community.

-         Coordinate The Annual UPN Business Clothing Drive

-         Establish relationships with and mentor at risk youth within the Urban Community

EVENTS COMMITTEE

The purpose of this committee shall be to develop and enhance the organization's events. They will be responsible for creating a portfolio of events that address the objectives of the organization. The members of this committee will work with the Event Committee Chairperson to fulfill the following responsibilities:

-         To facilitate and support UPN sponsored events

-         To monitor, evaluate, and improve UPN sponsored events

-         Actively and consistently promote established UPN events

-         Work with the Communications committee to establish marketing strategies

-         Initiate fundraising events throughout the calendar year.
